There are so many home-based online opportunities that it is all but impossible to uncover and look at them all. Then, beyond the staggering volume of them is the task of determining which ones are better than others. My usual approach is to survey the entire field of candidates and then reduce it to a few final candidates. As it turns out, that is not feasible in this case because of the number of possibilities. I learned tough lessons. The good news is that I now have a set of ten steps to make the process a lot easier. I’m happy to share them with you.
* Don’t accept anything that doesn’t give you all the tools you need and a description of how they function and relate to each other.
Many companies are much better at producing extended sales presentations to draw you in than they are at helping you understand the opportunity that they are presenting. If they skimp on a money-back guarantee that allows you to try out the system in a rigorous way, move on to another opportunity. Look for good instructions and tips on how to get started quickly.
* Pursue the product instead of the lure of downline levels.
There are legitimate MLMs and there are many that are substandard and possibly fraudulent. I know from experience. With an MLM you end up focusing on building a downline rather than promoting a fine product and system. It can hardly be otherwise because with an MLM you don’t really start to make money until you’re sitting atop a fair number of levels. A company offering a good product will keep your focus where it should be.
* Many aspiring home-based affiliates gravitate toward a scheme that is so limited that it might not accommodate their own strengths. Look for a situation that offers some choices that can be custom tailored to your preferences.
* Pass up get-rich-quick fantasies implying that big $ can be captured while hardly lifting a finger.
Examine their statements with an eye toward integrity. Do you know people who have sat by their swimming pools and have been swamped by tons of cash falling on them? Get real. Look for evidence that sustained work will actually gain reasonable rewards. Depend on your own efforts rather than hoping for luck.
* Insist on abundant and high quality headquarters support. This really shows a company’s commitment. What about 24/7 FAQ? A standing schedule of webinars? Phone support? Skype? Access to the CEO?
* A key indicator is whether or not the company constantly improves the business possibilities for its affiliates. Try hard to check this out.
* Some money back guarantees are solid as a rock; some are not. What about a six month money back guarantee that enables you to actually try out the system and to test it meaningfully? What about one that’s good for a week or a month and effectively allows only a peek into the company?
* With many opportunities new affiliates can experience a long period of time before they can earn income. Does the company you’re looking at provide jump start assistance for you?
* Does the company have a good track record? Is it in debt? Is there a passionate person at the top that is closely involved, or is the company a short-term gambit to try to make a quick buck?
* After investigating the opportunity as described in the previous steps, is the air clear or do you smell anything funny? You are now equipped to make a sound decision about the worth of the company and your compatibility with it.
